Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus… Acts 13:38-39

Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do. Acts 13:38-39	Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins; and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. Galatians 3:5	He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith? Spirit listening

For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. Galatians 5:4	You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace. righteousness grace Jesus
‘I am the Lord your God,’ I told them. ‘Follow my decrees, pay attention to my regulations, and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are a sign to remind you that I am the Lord your God.’ Ezekiel 20:19-20	I am Yahweh your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them. Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God. obedience sabbath
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.” Exodus 24:12	Yahweh said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.” obedience receiving
God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? James 4:12	Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another? judgment salvation neighbor
You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law. Galatians 2:15-16	We, being Jews by nature and not Gentile sinners, yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law. faith righteousness
A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:39	A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ neighbor love
Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you. Deuteronomy 4:2	You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you. obedience following
Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4-5	Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one. You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. love God
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! Psalm 111:10	The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! awe wisdom worship
The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked. Proverbs 10:29	The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. sin reliability
You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 19:18b-19	‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ love family reliability
I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments. Psalm 119:45	I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts. freedom seeking
Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money! Psalm 119:36	Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain. greed heart selfishness
You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord. Leviticus 22:31	Therefore you shall keep my commandments, and do them. I am Yahweh. obedience God
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die. Galatians 2:21	I don’t reject the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing! grace righteousness Jesus
Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. Leviticus 5:17	If anyone sins, doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, though he didn’t know it, he is still guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. sin punishment
Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever. Deuteronomy 5:29	Oh that there were such a heart in them that they would fear me and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and with their children forever! obedience blessing children
Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. Matthew 5:17	Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill. Jesus prophecy
Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them. John 14:21	One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him. love Father
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Psalm 119:1	Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law. righteousness life blameless
The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. Psalm 19:8	Yahweh’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. Yahweh’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes. joy heart light
Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. Isaiah 26:8	Yes, in the way of your judgments, Yahweh, we have waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul. righteousness desires
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. Psalm 119:111	I have taken your testimonies as a heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart. joy heart
