For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.While we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, Than great treasure with trouble.Better is little, with the fear of Yahweh, than great treasure with trouble.

Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.
The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, And like a high wall in his own esteem.The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, like an unscalable wall in his own imagination.

But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
