| The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up. | The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and he exalts. |
| Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. | Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. |
| Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. | Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. |
