Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. | You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. |
This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with him, we will also live with him. | The statement is trustworthy: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him. |

Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. | And like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation. |
He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. | And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. |

So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. | Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment. |
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. | In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. |
Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. | Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. |
For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? | For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? |
Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. | When pride comes, then comes dishonor; But with the humble there is wisdom. |
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. | Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. |
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. | Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth. |
The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up. | The Lord makes poor and rich; He humbles, He also exalts. |
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. | Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. |
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. | Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. |
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. | And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. |
