But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him?
And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
“Can a person hide himself in hiding places So that I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord.Can someone hide in a secret place so that I cannot see him? Do I not fill heaven and earth?
See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek what is good for one another and for all people.Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone.
The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
So that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”Therefore, we can say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience.Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe.
Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment.When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.”As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
One who turns his ear away from listening to the Law, Even his prayer is an abomination.When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayer is detestable.
But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect.Rather, revere Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be prepared to offer an explanation to anyone who asks you to justify the hope that is in you. However, do so with gentleness and respect.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain.You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain, for the Lord will not consider blameless those who take his name in vain.
A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word!A man is joyful when he utters apt answers, and even more satisfying is a word in season.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, as some think in terms of delay, but he is patient with you. It is not his wish that any should perish but rather that all should be brought to repentance.
Therefore, no one is to act as your judge in regard to food and drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon, or a Sabbath day— things which are only a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.Therefore, do not allow anyone to pass judgment on you in regard to what you eat or drink, or about the observance of Festivals, New Moons, or Sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what is to come. The reality is Christ.
Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.Brethren, if anyone is detected committing a transgression, you who are spiritual must set him right in a spirit of gentleness. Meanwhile, you should take care so that you yourselves are not tempted.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.God abides in anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that person abides in God.
For one will hardly die for a righteous person; though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Indeed, it is seldom that anyone will die for a just person, although perhaps for a good person someone might be willing to die. Thus, God proved his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
The one who has believed and has been baptized will be saved; but the one who has not believed will be condemned.Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.”Then Peter addressed them: “I now understand how true it is that God has no favorites, but that in every nation all those who fear God and do what is right are acceptable to him.”
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father, but whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.You have heard that it was said of old: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that anyone who looks with lust at a woman has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood dwells in me and I dwell in him.

One who conceals hatred has lying lips, And one who spreads slander is a fool.Lying lips conceal hatred, and anyone who slanders another is a fool.
