The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field. They will never again experience hunger or thirst, nor will the sun or any scorching heat cause them discomfort. For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will be their shepherd. The love of money is the root of all evils, and in their desire for it some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many serious wounds. 1 Timothy 6:10	For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. money evil greed
So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28	So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. sin sacrifice salvation

This water prefigured Baptism, which now saves you. It does so not by the washing away of dirt from the body but by the pledge of a good conscience given to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:21	There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. baptism salvation purification

When you fix your gaze upon it, it is gone before you realize it. For it suddenly sprouts wings and flies up to the sky like an eagle. Proverbs 23:5	Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. money desires materialism
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16	Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. beauty encouragement receiving
However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die. Ezekiel 18:21	But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. conversion sin law
When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each one of you from your wicked ways. Acts 3:26	To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities. resurrection Jesus blessing
