I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son. Deuteronomy 8:5	You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you. Father learning punishment
However, to those who did accept him and who believed in his name he granted the power to become children of God. John 1:12	But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name. faith Father children

Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom; fear the Lord and turn your back on evil. This will provide healing for your flesh and restore strength to your body. We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.
