| Dear children, keep yourselves from idols. | Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. |
| Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. | Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is their father. |

| Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children. | Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. |
| I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. |

| Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. | My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. |
| Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. | Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. |
| For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. |

| You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. | You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. |
| And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. | And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. |
| Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. | Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. |
| But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! | But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream. |
| There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. | No one is holy like the Lord, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. |
| If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! | If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! |
| But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. | But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting On those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children, To such as keep His covenant, And to those who remember His commandments to do them. |
| “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.” | So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.” |
| Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. | Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life. |
| See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. | Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. |
