| So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. | Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. |
| And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. | And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. |

| He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. | He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! |
| Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. | And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. |

| They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” | And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” |
| And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. | And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. |
| Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. | Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. |
| But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. | But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
| Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. | Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. |
| And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. | And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. |
| So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. | Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. |
