Comes (3/4)

I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles. But God has protected me right up to this present time so I can testify to everyone, from the least to the greatest. I teach nothing except what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and in this way announce God’s light to Jews and Gentiles alike.
Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace!

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped.
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.
