- And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
- And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
- For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

- Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Stand ye in the ways, and see,
and ask for the old paths,
where is the good way, and walk therein,
and ye shall find rest for your souls.
But they said, We will not walk therein. - I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
He only is my rock and my salvation:
he is my defence; I shall not be moved. For I the Lord thy God
