My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. | My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. |
I have inherited Your testimonies forever, For they are the joy of my heart. | Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. |
|
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. | May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. |
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life. | Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. |
I delight to do Your will, my God; Your Law is within my heart. | I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. |
Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, Lord, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, and remembering You, is the desire of our souls. | Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. |
May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill your whole plan! | May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. |
Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You. | You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh. |
Whom do I have in heaven but You? And with You, I desire nothing on earth. | Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. |
My son, if your heart is wise, My own heart also will be glad. | My child, if your heart is wise, my own heart will rejoice! |
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to dishonest gain. | Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money! |
I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You. | I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. |
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. | So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. |
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart triumphs, And with my song I shall thank Him. | The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. |
If an army encamps against me, My heart will not fear; If war arises against me, In spite of this I am confident. | Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. |
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it. | It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. |
Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. | Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began! |
When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul. | When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. |
Teach me Your way, Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. | Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. |
Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. | So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. |
Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners. | Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” |
I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. | I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. |
With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. | I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands. |
Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way. | Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. |
But I have trusted in Your faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, Because He has looked after me. | But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me. |
