When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin. Job 5:17	How happy is the one whom God reproves; therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. punishment suffering blessing

But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
