| For the customs of the peoples are futile; For it is wood cut from the forest, The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. | Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. | There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. | Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. | Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. | For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. | For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. |
| Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. | And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. |
| My times are in Your hand; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me. | My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. |
| For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.” | For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. |
| Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Exalt Him who rides through the deserts, Whose name is the Lord, and be jubilant before Him. A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy dwelling. | Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. |
| And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. |
| Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful. | And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. |
| Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? | And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? |
| Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy. | Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. |
| And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. | But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
| In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be put to shame; In Your righteousness rescue me. | In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. |
| How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? | How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? |
| Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” | And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. |
| But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served, which were beyond the Euphrates River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. | And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. |
| In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? | In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. |
| Let Your favor, Lord, be upon us, Just as we have waited for You. | Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. |
