If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
An honest witness does not lie; a false witness breathes lies.An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.
Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet?Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?
So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword.Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Arise, O Lord! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not ignore the helpless!Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!
The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
You must not covet your neighbor’s house. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
