Forth (2/2)

  • Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.
  • For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
  • While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.
  • I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart.
    I will tell of all your marvelous works.
  • I spread out my hands to you.
    My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah.
  • This also comes out from Yahweh of Armies, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
  • He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth.
  • I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
  • But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out and leap like calves of the stall.
  • Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you now see and hear.
  • He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress.
    I will not be shaken.
  • However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.
  • But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
  • I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
  • He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress.
    I will never be greatly shaken.
  • You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
  • For you are my rock and my fortress,
    therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me.
  • Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
    “Behold, the virgin shall be with child,
    and shall give birth to a son.
    They shall call his name Immanuel,”
    which is, being interpreted, “God with us.”
  • Do all things without complaining and arguing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world, holding up the word of life.
  • If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ don’t believe it. For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
  • He was there with Yahweh forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
  • He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
    I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
    my God, in whom I trust.”
  • I love you, Yahweh, my strength.
    Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
    my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
    my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
  • Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.

God, you are my God.
I will earnestly seek you.
My soul thirsts for you.
My flesh longs for you,
in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
