Bible Verses about 'Freedom'

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond-servants of God.
I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments. And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts.
So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace.
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord anointed me To bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to captives And freedom to prisoners.
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace.
But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ. But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.
You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. From my distress I called upon the Lord; The Lord answered me and put me in an open space.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed.
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all.
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, Only the rebellious live in parched lands.
Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! What then? Are we to sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Far from it!
Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; And save us and forgive our sins for the sake of Your name.
Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins.
