All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind. | All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. |
God abides in anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and that person abides in God. | Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. |
Be still and acknowledge that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth. | Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. |
God blessed the seventh day and he consecrated it, for on it he rested from all the work he had done when he created all things. | And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. |
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. | And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. |
The Lord is near to all who call out to him, to all who call out to him sincerely. | The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. |
Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above all other names, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth. | Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. |
On one Sabbath as Jesus was teaching in the synagogue, a woman was present, possessed by a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and completely unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” Then he laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. But the leader of the synagogue was indignant because Jesus had effected a cure on the Sabbath, and he said to the assembled people, “There are six days when work is permitted. Come on those days and be cured, and not on the Sabbath.” The Lord said to him in reply, “You hypocrites! Is there a single one of you who does not untie his ox or his donkey and lead it from its stall to give it water on the Sabbath? Should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has held bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the Sabbath?” At these words, all his adversaries were put to shame, and the people rejoiced at all the wonderful things he was doing. | And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. |
Then it will come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. | And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. |
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. | He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. |
The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both. | Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. |
Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares about you. | Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. |
The Lord God is my strength; he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer and enables me to tread on the heights. | The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. |
As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit descended upon them just as it had upon us at the beginning. | And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. |
Indeed, who is God except the Lord? Who is the Rock besides our God? | For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God? |
Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. |
On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. | When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. |
For who is God except the Lord? Who is a rock aside from our God? | For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God? |
Stand firm, then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness clothing you, and with your feet shod in zeal to proclaim the gospel of peace. In all circumstances, hold in your hand the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. | Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. |
In love there is no fear; indeed, perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not yet achieved perfection in love. | There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. |
Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. | Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. |
And now, what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name. | And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. |
How much more valuable a man is than a sheep! Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. | How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. |
A word is not even on my tongue and you, O Lord, are completely aware of it. | For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. |
Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection. | And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. |
Bible verse of the day
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord.
