But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. | But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” |
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. | As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. |

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? | Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have. |
