- Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
- My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord.
Apart from you I have no good thing.” - Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
- For he satisfies the longing soul.
He fills the hungry soul with good. - The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger,
but those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing. - For I say through the grace that was given me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.
- A cheerful heart makes good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - See how good and how pleasant it is
for brothers to live together in unity! - How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace,
who brings good news,
who proclaims salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” - Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor of Yahweh. - For,
“He who would love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.”
- Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
- I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
- Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
- But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction.
- Seek good, and not evil,
that you may live;
and so Yahweh, the God of Armies, will be with you,
as you say. - For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you. - Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in the power of your hand to do it. - Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth.
How good is a word at the right time! - Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day.
- Whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.”
- He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you and does miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?
- A good name is more desirable than great riches,
and loving favor is better than silver and gold.
