- If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- Who can find a worthy woman?
For her value is far above rubies. - For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
- You are all beautiful, my love.
There is no spot in you. - Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control, perseverance; and in perseverance, godliness; and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.
- Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
- Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.
- May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you.
- Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
- Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them.
- Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
- House and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from Yahweh. - Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
- But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
- Iron sharpens iron;
so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance. - For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.
- But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- A friend loves at all times;
and a brother is born for adversity. - Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
- Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
- A good name is more desirable than great riches,
and loving favor is better than silver and gold. - Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
- ‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.”
