Goodness (2/2)

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right? And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good?
Shun evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.Turn from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God.The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.
Let no foul word ever pass your lips. Say only what is useful for edification, so that your words may benefit your listeners.Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
These are the words of the Lord of hosts: Stand at the crossroads and look around; ask for the ancient paths. When you are shown where the good way lies, walk along it and your souls will find rest. However, they said, “We will not take it.”This is what the Lord says: “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; Then you will find a resting place for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”
Do not let anyone lead you astray. “Bad company corrupts good morals.”Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
Then you will understand equity and justice as well as righteousness—every good path. Then you will discern righteousness, justice, And integrity, and every good path.
But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people claimed by God as his own possession,” so that you may proclaim the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.Who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.
I also ask that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing. They should be adorned not with braided hair or with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is fitting for women who profess their reverence for God.Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or expensive apparel, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come. Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out with his hand, and take fruit also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
To the loyal, you show yourself to be loyal; to the blameless, you show yourself to be blameless. With the faithful You show Yourself faithful; With the blameless You prove Yourself blameless.
