| If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. | If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. | If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? | If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? |
| If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. |
| He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool. | Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool. |
| This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it! | This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. |
| But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold. My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away. | But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. |
