| And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. | If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. |
| For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. | If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. |
| Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being. | Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others. |
| Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! | Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. |
