Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.
To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase.Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.
And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.“Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ ” Having said this, He breathed His last.Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.“Listen,” he said, “we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”
And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law.
