| God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. | God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. |

| If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. | If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. |
| For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.” | For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. |
| The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
| By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. | Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. |

| By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. | But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. | This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. |
| Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name! | Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. |
| For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. | For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. |
| In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. | Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. |
| He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us. | And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. |
