I AM THE VINE (4/4)

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I am commanding you.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one.
In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles. So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, as to whether the Christ was to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And I wait for His word.
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?“Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, “rather than that he would turn from his ways and live?”
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, that the Lord your God will put you high above all the nations of the earth.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. If an army encamps against me, My heart will not fear; If war arises against me, In spite of this I am confident.
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?The Lord is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all.
When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning, For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my hope is from Him.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.”
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.Bless the Lord, my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. All things are permitted for me, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

Bible verse of the day

See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.
