I AM THE VINE (4/4)

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.
In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word.
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?“Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked?” says the Lord Yahweh, “and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?”
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.
When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.”
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name!
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.

Bible verse of the day

See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.
