| Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep Yahweh’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good? | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? |

| It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. | If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. |

| But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. |

| Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword. | Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. |
| For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. | Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. |
| When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up. | When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. |
| These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. | These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. |
| Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you.
