Does it now appear to you that I am trying to gain the approval of human beings rather than the approval of God? Am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. | Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. |
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a contrite and humble heart, O God, you will not spurn. | The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. |
I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances.
