| For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. | For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. |

| And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? | Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? |

| Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? | Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? |
| And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. | Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. |
| So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. | So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. |

| A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. | And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. |
| That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. | So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. |
| Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” |
| I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. | No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. |
| These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. | These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. |
| In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. | Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. |
| In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. | In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? |
| And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. | And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever. |
| Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. | Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. |
| And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. | And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” |
| For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. | For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. |
| For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. | For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. |
