| Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. | Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |
| Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. | Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. |

| So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. | That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. |
| Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. | Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. |
| I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one. | I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. |
| I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. | I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. |
