| By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. | By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another. |

| Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. | My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. |
| Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. | Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.” |
| All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. | All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. |
| Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. | Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. |
| He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. | The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. |
| And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. | And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. |
| Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” |
| Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. | Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.” |
| Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? | Who is the one who overcomes the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? |
| For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. | For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we are to love one another. |
| Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. | By this we know that we remain in Him and He in us, because He has given to us of His Spirit. |
| And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. | And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. |
| And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. | And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment. |
| And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
| Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? | Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” |
| If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. | So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. |
| These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. | These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. |
| And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. | I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever. |
| Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. | Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am going to be with you, and then I am going to Him who sent Me.” |
| Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. | Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.” |
| I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. | I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one. |
| I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. | I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. |
| And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. | The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever. |
