Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. | Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but the one who hates correction is stupid. |

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. | In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. |
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. | One who is covetous will never be satisfied with money, nor will the lover of wealth be content with gain. This too is vanity. |

A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. | A true friend is one at all times, and a brother is born to render help in time of need. |

Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord. | Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness have been yours from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my many transgressions, but remember me in your kindness, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord. |
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. | This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. |
