| For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. | Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. | For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. | You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” | Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. |
| Don’t long for “the good old days.” This is not wise. | Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. |
