Let (3/4)

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart.
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and about the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
He will not allow your foot to slip; He who watches over you will not slumber. He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
This is the day which the Lord has made; Let’s rejoice and be glad in it.This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.
Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do.
But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
May my teaching drip as the rain, My speech trickle as the dew, As droplets on the fresh grass, And as the showers on the vegetation.Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin.Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.
But the one who boasts is to boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself that is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them.
The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them.
You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.
Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
You, Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me.Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me.
No one is to seek his own advantage, but rather that of his neighbor.Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others.
