But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. | But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. |

May my teaching drop like the rain, my speech condense like the dew; like gentle rain on grass, like showers on new growth. | My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass. |
Come now, let us argue it out, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. | Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. |
Like a city breached, without walls, is one who lacks self-control. | He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. |

For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night. | For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. |
I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you. | I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. |
I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah | I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. |
God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and makes me tread upon the heights. | The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. |
But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. | But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. |
Therefore you are great, O Lord God; for there is no one like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. | Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. |
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. | Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. |
The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body. | The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. |
When your eyes light upon it, it is gone; for suddenly it takes wings to itself, flying like an eagle toward heaven. | Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. |
Discipline yourselves, keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour. | Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. |

But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. | But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday. | Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. |
Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of your possession? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in showing clemency. | Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. |
But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. | But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. |
