- There is none holy as the Lord:
for there is none beside thee:
neither is there any rock like our God. - And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. - But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream. - Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
- Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
- Like as a father pitieth his children,
so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
- The Lord God is my strength,
and he will make my feet like hinds' feet,
and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. - A merry heart doeth good like a medicine:
but a broken spirit drieth the bones. - Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
- My doctrine shall drop as the rain,
my speech shall distil as the dew,
as the small rain upon the tender herb,
and as the showers upon the grass. - And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - For a thousand years in thy sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night. - Who is a God like unto thee,
that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression
of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy. - I stretch forth my hands unto thee:
my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
- For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
- Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
- Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?
for riches certainly make themselves wings;
they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
- The words of a talebearer are as wounds,
and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. - And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
- Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and as an high wall in his own conceit. He only is my rock and my salvation:
he is my defence; I shall not be moved. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?
by taking heed thereto according to thy word.Next verse! With image
