Bible Verses about 'Like'
- Rather, let justice flow like a river,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - There is no holy one like the Lord,
there is none beside you,
nor is there a rock like our God. - Let my teaching fall down like rain,
and my words descend like the dew.
Like rain upon the sprouts,
and like showers upon the grass. - I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like a mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. - The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Come now and let us discuss this,
says the Lord.
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow.
Though they are as red as crimson,
they shall become as white as wool. - For to you a thousand years
are like a yesterday that has passed
or one of the watches of the night. - Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless
is the man devoid of self-control. - I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah - But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
- But he is to ask with faith, without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind.
- How great you are, Lord God! There is no one like you, and there is no God except you alone, as everything that we have heard confirms.
- Remain sober and alert, for your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
- When you fix your gaze upon it,
it is gone before you realize it.
For it suddenly sprouts wings
and flies up to the sky like an eagle. - Commit your way to the Lord;
place your trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause, like the noonday. - Pleasing words are like a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and affording health to the body. - Like newborn infants, long for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may advance on the path to salvation.
- The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights. - But for you who fear my name
the sun of justice will arise
with its healing rays.
You will emerge leaping
like calves released from the stall. - I, I alone, am the one who comforts you.
Why then do you fear mortal men who must die,
human beings who must perish like grass? - The whispers of a gossiper are tasty morsels
that corrode one’s inner being. - The tongue of the just man is like pure silver;
the heart of the wicked is without worth. - Everyone who hears these words of mine and acts in accordance with them will be like a wise man who constructed his house on a rock foundation.
- The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold;
he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled. - Keep alert; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
- The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field.
- Beloved,
we are God’s children now.
What we shall be
has not yet been revealed.
However, we do know that when he appears
we shall be like him,
for we shall see him as he really is.
Everyone who has this hope in him
keeps himself pure,
just as he is pure. - What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy. - Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the prophets of that time proclaimed. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Forsake your evil ways and your evil deeds. But they refused to listen or to pay attention to me, says the Lord.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord;
do not be deaf to my cry
or ignore my weeping.
For I am a wayfarer before you,
a nomad like all my ancestors. - After John had baptized all the people, and while Jesus was engaged in prayer after also having been baptized, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.”
- However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many.
- For you are aware that you were ransomed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

as a seal upon your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
and ardor is as relentless as the netherworld.

an unending blaze. - Those who place their hope in the Lord
will regain their strength.
They will soar as with eagles’ wings,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not become faint. - As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. - Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you previously, that no one who does such things will inherit the kingdom of God.
- Whenever you fast, do not assume a gloomy expression like the hypocrites who contort their faces so that others may realize that they are fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

- A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.
