- But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there.
- What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
- In God alone is my soul at rest;
it is from him that my salvation comes. - Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
my Savior and my God. - These are the words of the Lord of hosts:
Stand at the crossroads and look around;
ask for the ancient paths.
When you are shown where the good way lies,
walk along it and your souls will find rest.
However, they said, “We will not take it.” - Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- Beloved, I pray that everything is going well with you and that your bodily health is equal to that of your soul.
- Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
- You created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am wonderfully made;
awesome are your works,
as I know very well. - When you search for me, you will find me. When you seek me with all your heart.
- O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. - Bless the Lord, O my soul;
my entire being, bless his holy name. - Pleasing words are like a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and affording health to the body. - I wait for the Lord in anxious expectation;
I place my hope in his word. - Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
affording refreshment to the soul.
The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust,
imparting wisdom to the simple. - Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul.
- When I sing to you, my lips will rejoice,
and so will my soul, which you have redeemed. - I am now about to go the way of all upon the earth. You know very well in your hearts and your souls that not one of the good things that the Lord, your God, promised you has failed to take place. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one of them has been broken.
- In God alone be at rest, O my soul;
it is from him that my hope comes. - My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When shall I come to behold the face of God? - For I will provide the weary with all they need, and I will restore the strength of all those who have grown faint with hunger.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah
