- You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. - Do not seek to adorn yourself externally—by the braiding of your hair and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothing. Rather, let your adornment be of your inner self, the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
- Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting,
but the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - Arise and shine forth, for your light has come
and the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you. - You created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am wonderfully made;
awesome are your works,
as I know very well. - But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or how tall he stands, for the Lord has rejected him. He does not see the way that men see, for men look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
- Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
- I also ask that the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing. They should be adorned not with braided hair or with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is fitting for women who profess their reverence for God.
- The grass may wither and the flower may fade,
but the word of our God will endure forever. - For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.
- Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- God created mankind in his image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress, so that I stand unshaken. But who am I, and what are your people,
that we should be able to do this?
All things belong to you,
and everything that we have given you is from your hand.Next verse!With image
