| And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. | You might say to yourself, “How can we know that the Lord did not speak the message?” If what the prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord is not true and it does not happen, then the message was not proclaimed by the Lord. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, you should not fear him. |
| So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. | God blessed the seventh day and he consecrated it, for on it he rested from all the work he had done when he created all things. |
| Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! | Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; proclaim his deeds among the peoples. |

| He will render to each one according to his works. | For God will repay everyone in accordance with what his deeds deserve. |
| But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. | But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you. |
| No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. | Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father, but whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. |
| And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work. | And so does kindness, O Lord. You reward each person in accordance with his deeds. |
