Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. | Place your hope in the Lord: be strong and courageous in your heart, and place your hope in the Lord. |
May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another and toward all men, even as we also do toward you. | May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you. |
Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. | Turn away from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart. |
Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. | Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them. | Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not treat them harshly. |
