Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry. | And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. |
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed. | The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. |

I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners. | I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. |
Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man. | Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. |
But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who are abusive to you. | But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. |
Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. |
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. | Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. |
Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. | Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. |
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return. | Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. |
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart. | A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. |
Now no one lights a lamp and covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand so that those who come in may see the light. | No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. |
But when Jesus heard this, He responded to him, “Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be made well.” | But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. |
And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and, looking up to heaven, He blessed them and broke them, and gave them to the disciples again and again, to serve the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied; and the broken pieces which they had left over were picked up, twelve baskets full. | Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets. |
And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” | And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. |
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, this is the one who will save it. | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. |
And He said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.” | And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. |
And heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ | And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. |
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven. | Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. |
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” | And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. |
So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. | And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. |
So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? | If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? |
But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and follow it.” | But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. |
But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. | For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. | Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. |
