Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice.
A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.The clever see danger and hide; but the simple go on, and suffer for it.
But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.How happy is the one whom God reproves; therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
“They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child.”They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers.
We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.
To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.With the loyal you show yourself loyal; with the blameless you show yourself blameless.
A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.Fools show their anger at once, but the prudent ignore an insult.
There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.Some friends play at friendship but a true friend sticks closer than one's nearest kin.
A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.Like a city breached, without walls, is one who lacks self-control.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not fret over those who prosper in their way, over those who carry out evil devices.

Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.Anxiety weighs down the human heart, but a good word cheers it up.
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.Words spoken by the wise bring them favor, but the lips of fools consume them.
Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have clothed yourselves with the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its creator.
The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense; they imagine it to be a high wall of safety.The wealth of the rich is their strong city; in their imagination it is like a high wall.

With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.With their mouths the godless would destroy their neighbors, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
