“At last!” the man exclaimed.
“This one is bone from my bone,
and flesh from my flesh!
She will be called ‘woman,’
because she was taken from ‘man.’”
This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. - Then what will you think if you see the Son of Man ascend to heaven again?
- You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
- For,
There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.

- But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
- As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
- But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
- For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds.
- But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
- What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.
- What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them? - He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care. - Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.

- God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through? - Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
- A newly married man must not be drafted into the army or be given any other official responsibilities. He must be free to spend one year at home, bringing happiness to the wife he has married.
- The man who finds a wife finds a treasure,
and he receives favor from the Lord. - He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.
- Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
- But ‘God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.
- So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
- So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.
- In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles. - Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
but trusting the Lord means safety. - And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.

- “Listen,” he said, “we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”

But the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?” Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God (during the days when Abiathar was high priest) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.” Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”

so a friend sharpens a friend. - As a face is reflected in water,
so the heart reflects the real person.
