But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven. | Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. |
Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. | Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. |

The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. | For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. |
Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous. | For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. |
But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then. | But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. |
You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. | There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. |
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. | For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. |
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. |
The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you. | For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. |
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. | Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. |
But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. | But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. |
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. | For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. | Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. | For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. |
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. | For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. |
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. | Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. |
But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. | But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. |
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. | The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. |
Many will be purified, cleansed, and refined by these trials. But the wicked will continue in their wickedness, and none of them will understand. Only those who are wise will know what it means. | Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. |
Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses. | Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. |
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. | For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. |
So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. | So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |
There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? | In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. |
Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. | As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. |
