| “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!” | The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent and believe in the gospel. |

| And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. | And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. | Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. |
| Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. | Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. |
| Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. | But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you. |
