Matthew 11:2 (5/5)

  • Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
  • Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
  • So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
  • Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
  • Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
  • Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
  • Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
  • On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
  • But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
  • Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
  • Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
  • Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
  • Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
  • Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
  • Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
