He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.” | Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” |
While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing, who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who was received up from you into the sky, will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.” | And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” |

Who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting. | Who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting. |
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him. | He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. |
For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being moved by the Holy Spirit. | For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. |
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ. | For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. |
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved! | Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. |
If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. | Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. |
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. | For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. |
Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” | But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” |
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.” | Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” |
Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.” | But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.” |
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. | Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. |
Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men. | Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men! |
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. | Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. |
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. | A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men. |
If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. | If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. |
Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong! | Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. |
He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again? | He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ |
One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. | He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed. |
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
Children’s children are the crown of old men; the glory of children is their parents. | Children’s children are the crown of old men, And the glory of children is their father. |
But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. | And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. |
